Day 1: Sapa to Bac Ha via Lao Cai ( L, D )
- Distance: ~100 km
- Highlights: Descend the dramatic mountain slopes from Sapa to Lao Cai City on the Chinese border. Wind up the scenic DT153 highway into the highland district of Bac Ha.
- Activities: Visit the Lao Cai border milestone and explore the Hoang A Tuong Palace (Hmong King's Palace) in Bac Ha.
- Overnight: Homestay or local hotel in Bac Ha.
Day 2: Bac Ha to Hoang Su Phi (via Xin Man) ( B, L, D )
- Distance: ~110 km
- Highlights: Ride through the remote border towns of Si Ma Cai and Xin Man along steep, raw mountain tracks. Cross into Ha Giang province to find the towering mountainsides of Hoang Su Phi.
