This is a great option for cyclists who want to experience the natural beauty of northern Vietnam without taking on the most challenging climbs.Cycling from Sapa to Bac Ha: The distance between Sapa and Bac Ha is approximately 60-70 km, depending on the exact route taken. This is a popular cycling route in the northern Vietnam region. The terrain is quite hilly, with some steep climbs, as you'll be traversing the mountainous landscape. Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to take in stunning views of rice terraces, remote villages, and the beautiful natural scenery of the region. The ride typically takes 4-6 hours to complete, depending on your fitness level and any stops you make. It's recommended to bring plenty of water, snacks, and be prepared for some challenging climbs.

Day 1 : Sapa or Lao Cai Riding Tour to Coc Ly - Bac Ha (L/D)

Pick up your hotel in Sapa or pick up from Lao Cai Station you will start out from Lao Cai by cycling on good flat road leading towards Coc Ly. You pass by peaceful countryside of the Red River valley. Villages and rice fields are all along the way. You arrive in Co Ly by noon, where you stop for a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, you will have a long and sometimes steep ascent to the final destination of the day, Bac Ha.

Should you feel tired from riding the bike, your jeep will pick you up and give you a lift to Bac Ha. You will check in to a hotel, where you will stay for the next two nights. A cold drink, a shower and a nice dinner will complete this day and make it one to remember.
Approx: 5 hours cycling/ 1 hour lunch, dinner

Day 2 :  Bac Ha Market - Biking Trips to Bao Nhai – Lao Cai (B/L)

After breakfast, you take a short cycling to visit the old castle of the former Hmong King. From there you can have a view over Bac Ha town. You will then visit this Sunday market with its colorful array of ethnic minority people such as Flower Hmong, Phu La, Black Dao, Tay, Nung who gather to buy and sell. After spending the whole morning exploring the market, your lunch will be served in a local restaurant.

You will then start out from Bac Ha by cycling downhill to Bao Nhai, where your car take you to Lao Cai Railway Station to reach the train back to Hanoi. Another possibility is to return to Sapa for more adventurouss holiday experiences in the mountains of Vietnam.

Approx: 2hours cycling, hour lunch
Note: On the entire trip you will have a supply car, which can give you a lift whenever you feel tired.
