4 days Sapa easy rider motorbike to Bac Ha - Luc Yen - Vu Linh - Hanoi
Tour Itinerary

This 4-day Easy Rider motorbike itinerary covers about 500 km of scenic Northern Vietnam, leading you from high-altitude tea plantations and local markets in Sapa, through the peaceful countryside of Luc Yen, to the waterfront homestays of Thac Ba Lake, before wrapping up in Hanoi. This 4-day Easy Rider motorbike itinerary takes you from the misty heights of Sapa through the vibrant minority lands of Bac Ha and Luc Yen, down to the peaceful waters of Thac Ba Lake in Vu Linh, before concluding in Hanoi. Sitting safely behind an expert Easy Rider local guide, you will cover roughly 500 kilometers of breathtaking mountain passes, rural valleys, and hidden dirt tracks .
Day 1: Sapa to Bac Ha (The Cultural Entry) ( L, D )
  • Morning: Fuel up on breakfast in Sapa. Mount the bikes and head southeast, leaving the tourist tracks behind. You will drop down the twisting mountain slopes toward Lao Cai city, riding parallel to the Chinese border.
  • Afternoon: Stop for lunch at a local spot near Bao Nhai. After lunch, your rider will tackle the steep, winding road of Highway 153 up to the Bac Ha plateau. If it is Saturday, your guide can detour to the incredibly vibrant Can Cau Market. If it is Sunday morning, you will arrive just in time for the famous Bac Ha Market. Check out the historic H'mong King's Palace (Hoang A Tuong) right in town.  Explore Ban Pho village to witness how the local Flower H'mong distill their traditional corn wine. Sleep in a comfortable local guesthouse or a village homestay.
Day 2: Bac Ha to Luc Yen (The Deep Mountain Pass) ( B, L , D )
  • Morning: Start with a warm bowl of Pho in Bac Ha. Today is one of the most rugged, beautiful riding stretches of the loop. Your Easy Rider will navigate narrow, winding roads carved into cliff faces, tracking the spectacular Chay River valley. You will cross from Lao Cai into the wild, less-traveled terrain of Yen Bai province.
  • Afternoon: Enjoy a picnic lunch or eat at a roadside shack in Khanh Hoa town. Continue tracking east towards Luc Yen. This region is legendary across Vietnam for its vibrant ruby and gemstone mining. Visit the small but fascinating Luc Yen Gemstone Market if you arrive before the traders pack up. Arrive at a traditional wooden house on stilts in a Tay ethnic minority village. Feast on a home-cooked dinner featuring wild mountain herbs and local meats, and toast with "happy water" (local rice wine) with your hosts.
Day 3: Luc Yen to Vu Linh / Thac Ba Lake (Palm Forests & Clear Waters) ( B, L , D )
  • Morning: Say goodbye to your Tay hosts and hit the backroads. The terrain flattens slightly into stunning, rolling hills dominated by dense palm forests and green tea plantations. The riding is smooth and relaxed, allowing you to easily take photos from the back of the bike.
  • Afternoon: Arrive in Vu Linh village, situated directly on the peaceful banks of Thac Ba Lake—one of Vietnam’s largest artificial lakes, dotted with over 1,300 islet peaks. Check into your White Dzao homestay. Board a traditional wooden boat for a relaxing afternoon cruise. You can swim in the clear blue waters or watch the local fishermen paddle with their feet. Enjoy a massive lakeside banquet prepared by your Dzao hosts. The White Dzao are famous for their lively hospitality; expect an evening full of storytelling and laughter.
Day 4: Vu Linh to Hanoi (The Rural Delta Return) ( B, L )
  • Morning: Enjoy breakfast overlooking the misty lake. Pack up and begin the final leg back toward the capital. Your riders will bypass the chaotic main highways by taking peaceful, secondary dirt and tarmac tracks through the tea hills of Tuyen Quang and Phu Tho provinces.
  • Afternoon: Stop for a local lunch in Viet Tri city. Afterward, the riders will navigate the beautiful, elevated Red River dyke roads. This stretch provides an incredible look at the agricultural heartland, passing fruit orchards and traditional brick kilns. Your riders will navigate the changing traffic as you approach Hanoi. You will drop off directly at your hotel in the Old Quarter by 04:00 PM, safely completing the journey right before the peak rush-hour chaos begins
